Activity Steps

1.Introduce the concept of a cold case by briefly discussing the decades-old heist in Hurricane Heist and how the hurricane brought new evidence to light. Ask students: what makes a cold case different from a current investigation?
2.Provide each student or small group with a blank dossier template including sections for suspect profiles, a timeline, evidence cards, and a red herring list. Students choose a fictional setting and invent a cold case scenario.
